Thomas wins backing for financial plan
Tynwald has approved the Budget for the next financial year.
Treasury Minister Chris Thomas won the backing of the court for his Pink Book which sets out how the Island’s money will be spent during 2026-27.
Sixteen members of the House of Keys voted for the Budget with eight voting against.
They were:
- Michelle Haywood (Rushen)
- Tim Glover (Arbory, Castletown and Malew)
- Lawrie Hooper (Ramsey)
- Sarah Maltby (Douglas South)
- Jason Moorhouse (Arbory, Castletown and Malew)
- Joney Faragher (Douglas East)
- Juan Watterson (Rushen)
- John Wannenburgh (Douglas North)
Two members of the Legislative Council voted against the financial plan.
They were:
- Tanya August-Phillips
- Rob Mercer
The vote was taken just before 5.15pm.
