Tynwald: questions on Steam Packet report and care in the west

May sitting to get underway this morning

The May sitting of Tynwald gets underway later this morning.

Motions on gas price regulations, an ME service, the future of the Peggy and of telephone boxes will all feature after the question session.

There'll also be a statement from Treasury on the economic recovery programme, with reports on a range of issues laid before the Court. 

Meanwhile, there's 61 questions tabled for consideration, split evenly as 31 for oral answer and 31 for written.

LegCo member Kate Lord-Brennan is set to quiz the health minister on care needs in the west of the Island, and the future of Corrin Memorial Home.

She'll also ask the chief minister whether he's read the Treasury Audit Advisory team's report into the Steam Packet issue.

Howard Quayle will also be questioned on if work to implement the recomendations of the ARUP report into 2019's Laxey floods has begun.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorehouse will ask Treasury Minister Cannan how many businesses were refused Covid support due to owing VAT and other non-payment issues.

As well as that he'll ask if his department keeps records of customer telephone calls.

For written answer there's multiples questions on climate change targets, charity banking, and protection for mountain hares.
