Henderson claims effects are felt worldwide
The so-called grandfather of Tynwald says the Manx Parliament sometimes forgets how widely the effects of its work are felt.
MLC Bill Henderson has sat in the chamber for 23 years.
In 2000 he placed a motion calling on government to compensate Manx residents who had been prisoners of war in Japan during World War II.
