Tynwald to receive scope of government report

Two documents which could help shape the future of the Manx government will be laid before Tynwald this week.

The Scope of Government report, and a document containing comments from the review team, will be presented by Chief Minister Allan Bell.

Meanwhile Treasury will seek approval of its plan to invest £24 million in Pinewood Shepperton, and appoint the film studio as investment managers of the Media Development Fund.

And a report into the government's IT systems will be received, with Tynwald members asked to vote on a series of recommendations.

There is also a relatively short question paper, which includes the following.

Onchan MHK Zac Hall wants to know how much redundancy money was paid out to civil servants each month, from January 2010 to April this year.

He has a question for written answer on the matter for the chief minister.

Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer will ask the Economic Development Minister John Shimmin if he's satisfied the Steam Packet's recruitment policy encourages the employment of Manx workers.

Meanwhile North Douglas member John Houghton will ask Mr Shimmin why his department didn't advertise the Manx Grand Prix during the TT.
