DHSC says items like paracetamol are cheaper over the counter
The types of medicines available on prescription on the Island changes from today (Monday 29 January).
It affects medication for conditions like thrush, cystitis, head lice, indigestion and mild acne.
The change hopes to reduce prescription costs, suggesting items like paracetamol often cheaper over the counter.
Prescriptions will still be provided for long-term conditions.
