UK activists travel to Island to highlight Mone case

Led By Donkeys drive billboard from London to Isle of Man

The Isle of Man features in a new video by British political campaign group Led By Donkeys.

It focuses on Baroness Michelle Mone who is facing allegations about a PPE contract awarded to a firm she's been linked to.

The Tory peer, who has a home on the Isle of Man, has taken a "leave of absence" from the House of Lords to clear her name.

Led By Donkeys was established in December 2018 as an anti-Brexit group, but has since criticised other actions of Boris Johnson's government.

They use social media stunts to give their campaigns traction, usually using billboards containing past tweets by politicians.

Videos highlighting contradictions made by well known figures utilising archive footage also regularly go viral on various platforms - these are often projected onto famous landmarks or institutions, or in this case, driven around on screens attached to a truck.

The video, released yesterday, shows the vehicle leaving St Thomas' Hospital in London, heading up the motorway, boarding the Ben-My-Chree in Heysham and driving around the Island.
