UK couple to walk around the Island for 'The Miles That Matter' 

Hiking challenge to raise awareness and funds

The parents of a boy with autism and ADHD will hike around the Island next week to raise awareness and funds about the challenges of living with it.

Chris and Billie will be joined by their friend Ian as the trio walk 20 miles a day before getting onto the ferry on Friday (14 August) and finishing the last three miles at the Daisy Inclusive Centre in Liverpool. 

"Together, we can raise awareness. Together, we can make some noise. Together, we can make a real difference."

Chris, who is an autism advocate, says it's important to raise awareness of how it impacts families and that there is little to do with children during the summer holidays.

He spoke to Chanelle Sukhoo:

At the finish on Friday, the trio will hold a free event for children and adults with disabilities and their families which will include live entertainment, a DJ, inflatables, a obstacle course, food, popcorn, candy floss, hot dogs and more.
