Key contacts retained with hung parliament
The Isle of Man Government, neutral in its stance towards political change in the UK, says it will continue its programme of engagement with politicians of all parties.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle has described the hung parliament produced by yesterday's general election as 'a surprising outcome'.
He's confirmed there will be no change to the policy of promoting the Island at Westminster and in Whitehall.
He said: " ..we have developed a network of relationships across the political parties, and we will now be working to build on those contacts in the context of the new political landscape in the UK’.
However, a number of Scottish MPs who raised Manx concerns on a range of issues in House of Commons, lost their seats last night.
Mr Quayle says he's sorry to lose that influence - although other supporters have been safely returned:
