UKIP leader says immigration will rise

The Isle of Man can expect much higher levels of immigration in the near future.

That's the view of the UK Independence Party whose leader Nigel Farage has given a public lecture in Douglas.

Mr Farage - a member of the European Parliament - claims a common immigration and asylum policy is in the pipeline for later this year - which would work in a similar way to the common fisheries and agriculture policies.

Its effect - according to Mr Farage - 20 million more people allowed into the EU.
