UNESCO insider sheds light on Island's biosphere bid

 

The Isle of Man's bid to win global recognition as a special place to live and work will be explored tonight at an event to mark United Nations Day.

The Island's seeking status from the UN's educational, scientific and cultural organisation UNESCO - as a world biosphere reserve.

The Island will show how it supports diverse landscapes, nature and heritage together with a vibrant economy and strong community values. 

Tonight at the Manx Museum a former advisor to UNESCO on the biosphere programme Professor Peter Bridgewater will give an insider's view.  Further information on attending the event is available from iomuna@manx.net.
