Council says it doesn't agree with tribunal outcome
A workers' union is calling for an independent investigation into Douglas Borough Council.
It's after the body was ordered to pay a worker of 36 years more than £5,000 after losing an employment tribunal.
It ruled William Pye, a gully operative, had suffered unlawful deductions from his salary.
However Douglas Council has since said it doesn't agree with the decision or accept criticism of its officers.
Debbie Halsall from the union Unite, of which Mr Pye is a member, spoke to Manx Radio's Alex Wotton:
