NAHT members to be balloted on new offer from DESC
A new pay scale specifically for Manx teachers is being described as 'groundbreaking' by a teaching union.
The NAHT says it's received a final pay offer from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture as part of its ongoing negotiations over pay and conditions.
The new package includes the introduction of an Isle of Man weighting, similar to that offered to teachers in London, in recognition of the Manx economy and cost of living on the Island.
A ballot on the proposals has opened today.
