PPU welcomes draft legislation
Draft sex offences legislation is welcomed by the police Public Protection Unit.
The draft Bill now sits with the Attorney General's Chambers as legal minds work to amend the Isle of Man's outdated sentencing regulations.
The Sexual Offences Act 1992, Sexual Offences Act 2006, and parts of the Criminal Justice Act 2001 are being replaced.
Some of the issues considered in the public consultation last month included; historic convictions for homosexuality, revenge porn, and indecent images.
Those suggestions are under consideration - PPU's DC Nicola Taylor says the new legislation aligns with the new technological age:
