Flat rules to apply to bedsits
There’s a chance to have your say on new fire regulations that will apply to bedsits – as the government updates its legislation.
Department of Infrastructure member Chris Thomas says the new laws will require minimum standards for houses in multiple occupation.
Currently, fire regulations apply to flats – Mr Thomas says those laws date back 20 years.
But he says there’s never been a set of enforced rules for bedsits:
Island's finances 'in a better position than most other jurisdictions'
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
