Vote of no confidence to be held in Castletown

Carol Quine was elected in July

Castletown Town Commissioners is holding a vote of no confidence in its Chair Carol Quine.

Fellow member Jimmy Cubbon is aiming to oust her at an extraordinary meeting of the board on Monday (27 Sept).

He says Ms Quine didn't 'respectfully reply' to the board's prior request that she resign.

He added: "Many members sought transparency as a key element in their manifestos and a failure to acknowledge a majority decision by fellow board members is unacceptable and non democratic."

Ms Quine was elected to lead the board following the local elections in July.
