David Stacey raises money walking for 68 days
A local man has walked 500 miles to raise money for two Island charities, while defying expectations that can shroud the elderly.
Prompted by being told to 'act his age' by his doctor, 73-year-old David Stacey, who has underlying health conditions, covered the miles over 68 consecutive days as a fundraiser for Cruise Bereavement and Friends of Noble's.
So far, he's raised more than three thousand pounds in the process.
David says isolation has also helped him empathise with people struggling with mental health:
