War on illegal drugs isn't working

Bereaved father continues reform campaign

Millions of pounds spent on enforcing drug laws through the UK is having little effect on dealers and users, a bereaved father believes.

It’s three years today since Jacques and Torin Lakeman died after taking strong ecstasy tablets they'd ordered over the internet.

Ray Lakeman last week brought his ongoing campaign to reform drug laws to Downing Street, via a petition.

He says illegal drugs remain widely available to those who want them, despite money being spent trying to enforce laws banning them.
