Police issue advice to motorists after incident on the Island
An incident earlier this week in which police had to intercept a vehicle taken without consent could have had a 'catastrophic' ending, according to the Roads Policing Unit.
Specialist officers pursued the stolen vehicle through the north of the Island on Monday afternoon.
Two young males have been arrested.
Police say 'Children taking vehicles and driving around the Island with little or no experience is an extremely dangerous thing to do, however it seems to be an emerging trend on various media platforms.'
Motorists are being asked to keep their vehicles locked, and not to leave keys inside.
