Coastguard works with Royal Logistic Corps
Police say a wartime mortar round has been 'safely disposed of' in the area of Spanish Head.
Isle of Man Coastguard staff worked with the bomb disposal unit from the Royal Logistic Corps, who came to the Island specially.
There was no risk to the safety of the general public, officers say.
In a post on social media, police also looked to quell rumours about 'an issue' in Port Erin, sparked by the presence of a marked vehicle there.
The presence of a police officer there was "a coincidental licensing visit", and the army team were "enjoying a socially distant brew."
