Water pumped from Laxey homes after 'horrendous downpour'

Martyn Perkins airs grievances of residents

Laxey was hit last night by what's been described by a local resident as a 'tremendous downpour'.

The fire service has confirmed that at least two properties in Lower Laxey had to have water pumped from them. 

Around 30-40mm of rain came down in the village in the early hours of this morning, leaving trees down on Captain's Hill, blocking the area.

He says it doesn't help that no sand bags were available:
