Moffatt explains opposition to Langness plans
Celtic League objections to the planned military exercises on Langness were for several reasons, according to the Assistant General Secretary of the organisation.
Bernard Moffatt was vocal in opposition to the 'sort of seaborne assault' which had been scheduled to take place on the peninsula - coinciding with the multinational 'joint warrior' exercise early next month.
There were environmental concerns, specifically about wildlife in the area during nesting season, but Mr Moffatt says opposition was mainly on principle.
