Chief Technical Officer explains scrutineering
Trevor Denning says racers can sometimes feel apprehensive about having their bikes and clothing checked, assuming scrutineers are simply trying to find faults. Before every qualifying session and race, machines and riders are inspected to ensure they comply with regulations and meet safety standards. But Mr Denning says scrutineering isn’t about finding problems for the sake of it:
