We can't prosecute all planning offences says minister

Geoffrey Boot defends department's approach

The minister in charge of planning says action is taken against breaches when it is deemed necessary.

But Geoffrey Boot has admitted, in some cases, a caution is thought to be adequate.

It's after Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper put it to him during House of Keys questions that some breaches were being ignored.

Speaking to Manx Radio after the sitting, Mr Boot said it was impossible to prosecute every offence, regardless of how serious it was.
