Douglas promenade works expected to be completed in April 2021
The infrastructure minister has conceded that disruption caused by the ongoing refurbishment works along Douglas promenade was inevitable.
Ray Harmer's department is now estimating the project will be completed in April 2021.
He came under fire in Tynwald yesterday - with Chris Robertshaw MHK calling for the minister's head saying 'he IS the department' and therefore blame, legally, falls at his feet.
But Mr Harmer says despite the preparatory investigations carried out by the contractor, there would always be hiccups in an engineering project of that scale:
