"We're trying to keep people alive" says charity running new recovery club

People urged to seek support for their mental health

Volunteers at a new weekly 'recovery club' for people struggling with their mental health say they're keen for members to shape the service.

The initiative, run by charity Preferred Futures, is designed to foster social connection and open conversation.

The club runs at Columba Club, on Stanley Mount in Douglas, on Mondays between 7pm and 9pm.

It’s open to anyone who wants a safe, calm space to chat, connect and feel supported.

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week.

Volunteers Damien and Mark told Manx Radio now is a good time to seek help:

Preferred Futures has been chosen by the Castletown Ale Drinkers as this year’s beneficiary of the 2026 World Tin Bath Races.

The Isle of Man based mental health charity was established in 2023 - you can find out more HERE.
