Willaston school incident a hoax bomb threat - police

Primary school evacuated after hoax phone call

A primary school was evacuated yesterday due to a bomb threat.

Students at Willaston had to be moved to University College Isle of Man after the school received, what police now believe to be, a hoax call.

It happened at around 3pm as parents were starting to pick their children up from school and police arrived minutes later.

Safety cordons and road closures were put in place around the site while the threat was determined.

Officers are now working with the Department of Education to investigate the matter and say they will update the public with further information when they can.

They've thanked the local residents, affected members of the public and the parents for their understanding.

The school will reopen as usual today.
