Winter Hill tragedy remembered

They gathered in the rain this morning (Monday) at St John's to remember those who died when a passenger aircraft crashed at Winter Hill near Bolton in February 1958.

A memorial service was held to commemorate the 35 Isle of Man residents who were killed in the air disaster.

Just seven people on board survived.

A short service at Cooil-ny-Ree, just to the north of Tynwald Hill, was conducted by the Reverend Leslie Guthrie with a few words from Sam Alder of Rotary.
