Scheme comes in response to October 2019 flooding

Work to install a tree debris catcher in a river in Laxey is getting underway today.

Nine steel tubes along with river bank strengthening works is being carried out in a section of the Glen Roy River within Laxey Glen.

The catcher will trap trees and other debris from travelling downstream and causing blockages.

The project, being carried out by JCK Ltd, is expected to take up to 10 weeks to complete.
