Close eye being kept on regulations - Skelly
Exemption schemes for some roles in ICT and e-Business on the Island introduced just over a year ago have been a success.
So says the Department of Economic Development after revealing some 17 local businesses made use of the exemptions, employing 76 skilled workers as a result.
Minister Laurence Skelly claims it's a good result and believes the measures will help the Manx economy in facing up to a so-called 'global skills shortage'.
But he adds a close eye must be kept on the level of permits required.
