Service estimated to cost DHSC around £2,000 per year
Work is underway to set up a free phoneline for the mental health crisis team.
The Island's Mental Health Service is currently in talks with Manx Telecom to set up the service.
It's expected funding the free number would cost the Department of Health and Social Care around £2,000 per year.
The DHSC says the facility will be available as soon as possible.
