Fire service responds to blaze in Andreas
The Isle of Man Fire Service says a blaze in Andreas is another reminder of how important working smoke alarms are.
Crews from Ramsey, Kirk Michael and Douglas responded to the call on Friday afternoon.
The fire was contained within the kitchen and all occupants had safely evacuated the property before the Fire Service got there.
Breathing apparatus teams were deployed, using hose reels to extinguish the fire and thermal imaging cameras were then used to check for fire spread and any remaining hotspots.
Crews were there for approximately one hour.
Fire officers say it's vital to ensure you have functioning smoke alarms in your property and that they are tested weekly.
