Would government ban cigarette breaks?

The Minister for Health in Jersey says the Isle of Man should follow the Channel Island's example when it goes smoke-free next March.

The government of Jersey is banning cigarette breaks for its staff to try and reduce the damage smoking causes to health.

The ban will apply to all public sector employees, from January 1.

Ben Shenton (pictured) says a free 'stop-smoking' service is available, which has so far led to more than 200 people kicking the habit.

And he has this advice for health officials in the Isle of Man (audio file attached):

Ben Shenton was speaking to Dan Davies on Talking Heads.
