The Island's branch of Amnesty International is taking part in a global the 'Write for Rights' initiative, where letters are sent to those suffering from human rights abuses .

From 10 am this morning (18 Nov) members of the public have been able to write and send the letters at Shakti Man in Ramsey.

More sessions are planned for the future.

The recipients of this years letters include a water rights campaigner, a man tortured and imprisoned for criticising the government in CHAD, and peace activists facing trial in an Israeli military court.
