Year 12 students to get mental health first aid training

Tower Insurance sponsors new initiative for Autumn term

Year 12 students around the Island are to be trained in mental health first aid.

Manx Minds will teach 175 students across the high schools.

One of the scheme's instructors, Ali Vondy, says it's an issue that's been made worse over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic:

Manx Minds has received sponsorship from Tower Insurance for the project.

Josie Corrin is director of pastoral care at Ramsey Grammar School.

She says it's something students have called for and hopes future provisions don't require private sponsorship:
