Work begins to entice walkers along heritage trail
The old railway line between Douglas and Peel is set to receive what government calls a "comprehensive overhaul" in the coming months.
That process begins this week, as improvement works are carried out on the stretch between the Peel power station and Glenfaba bridge.
Ultimately, it's hoped the path will form an attractive 'heritage trail' to entice walkers, cyclists, and horse riders alike.
The rejuvenation of the old railway line is part of government's efforts to concentrate on footpaths and glens - a key aspect of the 'Year of our Island' programme.
