Ronaldsway Met Office says travel disruption and damage are likely
A yellow weather warning has been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office ahead of the arrival of Storm Amy.
The alert will come into force at 4pm tomorrow until 6pm on Saturday when gale to severe gale force winds are expected to hit the Island.
Gusts reaching 50-60mph or 65mph in exposed coastal areas are possible.
The met office says Storm Amy will bring a risk of travel disruption and will likely result in fallen trees and minor structural damage, as well as localised flooding during a spell of heavy rain.
Meanwhile Civil Defence Isle of Man has issued some advice to protect yourself and your property.
It's recommending to remove leaves from drains to help reduce localised flooding, and tie down or put away garden furniture and loose items in the garden - including trampolines!
Sandbags will be available at its headquarters in Douglas, but it's asking to please only take what you need.
