Charity's awareness raising in high schools
Homeless charity Housing Matters dealt with almost 50 young people last year.
Bosses say an 'increasing' number of under-20 year-olds are living in temporary accommodation or sleeping rough - with almost half having left home due to family breakdowns.
A new peer education programme in secondary schools is now hoping to raise awareness of the situation, using real life service users' stories.
Co-ordinator Katie Farrall says the reality of homelessness needs to be addressed:
Port St Mary Commissioners urging residents not to 'struggle in silence'
Hunt the Wren events taking place across the Island
St John's to host annual Cammag match
