Award-winning athlete describes team as 'like a family'
2023 has been described as a 'magical' year for Special Olympics Isle of Man by one of its athletes recognised at the 2023 Isle of Man Sports Awards this week.
Duncan Watterson was named Disability Sportsperson of the Year at the latest ceremony at the Villa Marina in Douglas on Wednesday evening (28 February).
He was one of the team members who contested the 2023 World Summer Games in Berlin and personally he claimed gold in the shot put event and a silver medal in the 100m.
Along with their success in the last twelve months as a group, Watterson described how welcoming and supportive the society is to everyone involved:
Rugby: Bevan Rodd on bench for England's opening Six Nations match
MGP 26: A new Quayle set for the start line
Football: Douglas Royal face Peel in Floodlit Cup Final clash
Hockey: Three wins for Island sides in England Championships
