Event will be heading to Malta and Gozo next year
The dates and venues for the 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games in Malta have been unveiled.
Commonwealth Sport has confirmed the event will take place from Friday, 29 October to Thursday, 4 November next year across the Islands of Malta and Gozo.
The games will include eight sports and are expected to welcome around 1,200 athletes aged between 14-18 from 74 nations, including the Isle of Man.
The previous Commonwealth Youth Games took place in 2023 in Trinidad & Tobago where the Isle of Man secured two medals, both in cycling.
More generally, the occasion in Malta and Gozo will be the eighth edition of the event since its inception in 2000.
The Isle of Man has hosted the games once previously in 2011.
The Malta games will begin with the opening ceremony on Friday, 29 October followed by a six-day sport programme from Saturday, 30 October to Thursday, 4 November.
