Aire puts Douglas Athletic on a high

Douglas Athletic produced another superb showing to defeat JCK Division Two favourites Marown on Saturday.

A 3-1 success secured a shock victory and inflicted a second straight defeat on Marown, whose consolation was scored by Michael Wheeler.

Matty Aire (two) and Lee Gartland were the Douglas Athletic scorers.

The two big games in the division ended all square.

Ayre and Colby shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Andreas with Phil Quayle and Steven Leece the respective scorers.

Four goals were shared at Victoria Road between Braddan and Gymns.

Michael Shimmin and Rob Smith were on target for the home side with Gary Booth netting a double for Gymns.

Silver boot holder Paul Whitley (two), Simon Dooley, Ryan Kelly and Chris Anderson scored the goals as Douglas Royal saw off Ronaldsway 5-0 to move into third.

Malew continued their fine start to the season with a 4-2 home win over Foxdale.

Daniel Thirlwell (two), Dean Kinley and Ashley Eden found the net as they maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Michael Court hit both for Foxdale.
