Archery: Angiolini becomes Scottish field archery champion

Sandilands secures medal and Sleight hits season best score

John Angiolini struck top success by claiming a gold medal at the Scottish Field Archery Championships at the weekend.

He was one of the three members of the Bowderyn Vannin and Isle of Man Archery Clubs taking part in the two-day competition in Kirkcaldy in Fife.

Angiolini managed to secure the top spot in the Adult Freestyle Limited Compound Class.

Meanwhile, Rose Sandilands claimed the bronze medal in the Adult Freestyle Unlimited Compound Class, and also managed a season best score in the hunter round.

Lesley Sleight - a member of the English Association - entered into the open class.

She hit a season best score in the Adult Traditional Recurve Class for the field round, 40 points up on the Scottish record.
