Athletics: 2023 Easter Festival of Running course changes confirmed

Alterations due to redevelopment work in Port Erin

Organisers of one of the Island's most popular running events have confirmed changes to the competitions course for later this year.

The Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running 10k circuit has been altered for 2023 following certification from UK athletics.

The change for this year is due to redevelopment works taking place in Port Erin at the time of the races which means elements of the original route are no longer available.

The majority of the course remains unchanged however the start/finish location has moved around 100m to allow spectators to watch the start and finish from the same location.

There will also be a new loop section around the lower area of Port St Mary which will then re-join the previous course halfway up the High Street.

The festival - organised by Manx Harriers - will take place from 7-9 April.

As well as attracting local competitors, the event has also become an annual challenge for numerous UK clubs and university teams.
