Races will also kickstart this year's No Rest For The Wicked series
A stellar turnout is expected to take part in this year's Isle of Man Marathon and Half-Marathon in the north of the Island.
Both events are due to get underway in Ramsey on Sunday morning (10 August) with 127 athletes signed up for the marathon and 517 registered for the half-distance race.
The meeting will also mark the start of this year's No Rest For The Wicked series which features six races in six days across a range of different distances, terrains and disciplines.
Local athletics correspondent Dave Griffiths is not only impressed with the numbers for this weekend's event, but the draw it appears to have for athletes from elsewhere across the world:
The race will take place on what's coined as the 'Manx Northern Course' with the route starting in Ramsey before heading along Mooragh Promenade and then passing through the areas of Bride, Andreas and St Judes with the finish situation at the Ballacloan Stadium back in Ramsey.
The marathon will do two laps of the course whilst the half-marathon will involve completing one lap.
Entries are already closed for this weekend's races.
Elsewhere, five shorter races will form the remainder of the No Rest For The Wicked Series from Monday to Friday next week (11-15 August).
