Athletics: Cross-Country League prepares for opening round

Preparations are well underway for the start of the Law Trust IOM Cross-Country League which begins in just over one weeks' time.

The first round of the popular competition is set to take place at Port-e-Chee Meadow in Douglas on Sunday, 16 October, with the first race starting at 1pm.

There will be four rounds in total for the series - the second will take place at Crossags, Ramsey on Sunday, 6 November.

Following that is the third round at Port-e-Chee Meadow on 4 December before the fourth and final stage at QEII in Peel on 15 January, 2023.

The series caters to all competitors aged between seven and 70.

Entries for the league - which are online only this year - close at Midnight this Sunday (9 October).

Dave Griffiths says the cross-country league provides great conditioning for local athletes.
