Island athlete part of team taking on Swansea Half Marathon
Isle of Man athlete Dawn Atherton has earned a place in the England Masters squad competing early next month.
The Western AC runner is one of 21 competitors selected in the V40 category to contest the Swnasea Half Marathon on Sunday, 8 June.
Specifically, Atherton will be part of the Masters representative race which sees the 180-strong England squad as a whole take on Wales as part of the meeting.
It'll be the second time the Manx athlete has been selected for the Masters team.
England Masters Road Running Programme Coordinator, Chris Hollinshead, says: "This is the first time Wales have hosted the Masters half marathon and I am looking forward to visiting Swansea with the England team.
"The programme is continuing to grow in popularity and for this year we have another first as we welcome the United Kingdom Armed Forces (UKAF) to the competition.
"UKAF comprises of armed forces personnel from the Army, Navy and RAF."
Separately, Atherton is also due to be part of the Isle of Man athletics squad for the half-marathon event for the 2025 Island Games in Orkney from 12-18 July.
