Bacchas show no mercy

Reigning champions Bacchas A showed no mercy to their B side on Saturday.

A 15-1 demolition was the result of the day in men’s Division One.

And there was no doubting the stars of the rout – five goal Karl Moore and four goal Andy Bridson.

There were also doubles from Richard Le Page, Jamie Cox and Dave Partington with Paul Griffiths getting the scant consolation for the B team.

Arch rivals Valkyrs A overcame the challenge of Ramsey A, emerging 4-2 winners, helped by two goal Chris Roberts.

Dan Stevenson and Ollie Webster were the Ramsey A scorers.

A Steve Cottier hat-trick fired Saracens to a 3-2 success over Castletown and goals from Paul Kelly and Dave Millward settled the Vikings’ club clash in favour of the A side.

Ollie Steriopolous was the B team scorer.

In women’s Division One, Vikings A claimed a memorable 3-2 victory over champions, Bacchas A.

A double from Kim Carney and one from Karen Faragher maintained the leaders’ 100 per cent record and consigned Bacchas to a second defeat of the campaign.

Donna Harrison and Niamh Goddard were their scorers.

Ali Breen hit four and was joined on the scoresheet by Lucy Kinrade, Laura Bellwood and Katherine Craine, who all struck doubles, as Ramsey A thrashed Harlequins 10-0.

Leanne Brew and Andrea Kneen were the scorers as Valkyrs A defeated Valkyrs B 2-0, while Phoenix edged a seven goal thriller against Castletown with Charlotte Talavera, Hannah Biggerstaffe and Tracy Lyness all on target.
