Island player lost by two sets to one
Isle of Man tennis player Billy Harris was beaten in US Open Qualification last night (26 August).
He lost by two sets to one to Englishman Toby Samuel in New York (6-4, 1-6, 4-6).
Despite Harris winning the opening set, Samuel held his nerve to comprehensively level the tie as he won the second set 6-1.
The former Albany Tennis Club man tried to stay in the contest as the match went to a decider but it wasn't to be as the seventh seed took the game with a 6-4 third set win.
Harris stays ranked at 167th in the world
