Manx TT star rooted in reality over challenges of latest venture

Manx TT competitor, Conor Cummins says 'blood, sweat and tears' must go into his new racing team to achieve its ambitions.

The Ramsey man has set up Conrod Motorsport - named after his own business - to take on the 2026 Isle of Man TT Races.

As well as hoping to challenge for top honours on the Snaefell Mountain Course, he has long-term hopes of being able to expand in future.

But before that, he says he's under no illusions as to the challenges he faces financially to get things off the ground right now, agreeing that money doesn't grow on trees:

Currently, the initial programme will see Cummins contest the two Superstock TT races in 2026 with his machinery yet to be confirmed.

Separately, he's looking at what options there could be for the Superbke and Superstock classes.

During 2025, he contest the TT with the Burrows Engineering/RK Racing team, securing two top-ten finishes in the Superstock races and giving the team its fastest ever TT lap.

Elsewhere, Cummins' best personal lap speed on the Snaefell Mountain Course of 133.116mph - set back in 2022 - makes him currently the sixth-fastest TT competitor of all time.
