Manx fighter to face Sydney Chambers in Blackpool this weekend

Nearly nine months since her last competitive fight, Isle of Man pro boxer Jade Burden is looking forward to returning to the ring this weekend.

The Island competitor is due to face pro debutant, Sydney Chambers at Winter Gardens in Blackpool tomorrow night (6 September).

Due to fight cancellations and postponements, Burden hasn't competed since a unanimous points win over Kerry Orton in Birmingham in December last year.

'The Grenade' says she's relishing this weekend's test and admits the disruption to her 2025 schedule so far has been a tough challenge to deal with:

Since turning professional, Burden has won both of her pro bouts so far which both took place in 2024.

Her first scheduled contest of this calendar year was due to take place on 27 April but that was cancelled less than two weeks before being held.

Burden was then due to face off against Commonwealth Lightweight Champion, Kirsty Hill on 23 August, however that contest was called off due to an injury to a competitor elsewhere on the event card.

Despite the change of opponent for this weekend, the Isle of Man fighter's confirmed she still wishes to face Hill in the future.

Meanwhile, Burden's fellow Manx boxer, Jamie Devine will also be in action during the same event on Saturday as he faces Darwing Martinez.

Devine also boasts an undefeated pro record so far of eight victories, two of which coming by way of knockout.
