Corinthians survive scare at Laxey

Two goals each for Martin Cowan and Will Penhallurick helped Douglas Athletic to a 5-1 win over St John's in the Canada Life Premier League.

Daniel Pennington was also on the scoresheet as the Springfield Road outfit moved to within one point of leaders St Mary's.

Elsewhere, a Furo Davies scoreda brace as St George's kept their unbeaten record intact with a 5-1 victory over Marown.

Old Boys hit double figures against winless Castletown in a 10-1 rout at Blackberry Lane and Rushen won 9-1 away at Douglas Royal.

Corinthians had to fight back from 3-0 down to eventually see off a valiant Laxey side 7-4.
